Fordham comes into this season off a short 3 game season in 2020 that showed lots of promise. The Rams finished last season with a 2-1 overall record after QB Tim Demorat led the way. Fordham scored 32 points on more than 350 yards per game in their 3 games a year ago. This offense will go as far as Demorat can take them in 2021 using his ability to run, while relying on a strong arm to throw the ball all over the field.
Defensively Fordham showed lots of promise as well keep opponents at bay relying on a fast defense that allowed only 1 touchdown pass all of last year. Fordham will have issues this year but has the bodies and ability to compete with Nebraska and can push the Cornhuskers offense around to disrupt the run and pass alike.
Nebraska comes into game 2 of the year after a poor performance in week 1 in which they were upset but Illinois.Quarterback Adrian Martinez did what he could going 16-32 on the day for 232 yards and 1 touchdown, while also running the ball 17 times for 111 yards and 1 score. Oliver Martin was target #1 for Martinez finishing with 6 catches for 103 yards and 1 score.
Offensively Nebraska wasn’t bad but the defense let them down completely. The Cornhuskers allowed 2 Illinois Quarterbacks to combine to go 15-19 on the day for 159 yards and 2 scores. Defending the run wasn’t much better allowing 167 yards on 48 total carries and another score. The offense put the defense in tough spots giving up an early safety as well as a scoop and score. Nebraska has to be better going forward or this will again be a long year for the Cornhuskers.
