Florida State at Syracuse 9/15/18 - College Football Picks & Predictions

Syracuse has not beaten Florida State in 52 years, and Florida State has beaten the Orange 10 times since then. Last year Florida State won by only three, and the Seminoles seem to be struggling this year. Eyes were raised when the Seminoles were handled easily by Virginia Tech in the season opener. The Seminoles rebounded with a less than impressive 36-26 win over Samford last week. They meet at Syracuse this weekend.

Syracuse has not faced a good team yet, but the Orange has two blowouts over lower level teams to its credit. In two games Syracuse has outscored the opposition 119-52.

Eric Dungey is leading the Syracuse attack with 402 yards passing, seven touchdowns and one interception. Dungey also has 244 yards rushing and one touchdown. He is averaging 9.4 yards per carry. Moe Neal has 155 yards rushing. Jamal Custis has 11 receptions for 209 yards and three touchdowns. Florida State is led by Deondre Francis, who has 553 yards passing, three touchdowns and three interceptions. Francis also has Florida State's only rushing touchdown so far. Cam Akers has 158 yards rushing. Nyqwan Murray has 115 yards receiving. Two more players have around 80 yards each receiving.

Syracuse is cranking out 508 yards per game, 274 rushing, and 233 passing. The Orange is, however, giving up 454 yards per game, 141 rushing, and 313 passing.

Florida State's run defense has been its strong point, holding opponents to 81 yards per game, but the Seminoles are giving up 341 on the ground, for a total of 422 per game. Florida State is giving up 390 yards per game, 276 of that passing.
