Florida State at LSU 9/4/22 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Florida State Seminoles will be on the road for their second game of the 2022 regular season in New Orleans, LA for a matchup with the LSU Tigers. Florida State comes into their second game of the year 1-0 following a 40 point blowout win over Duquesne in week zero. Defensively Florida State was dominant holding Duquesne to only 164 yards and seven points in the game including none in the first half.

Offensively Florida State got whatever they wanted totaling 638 yards of offense including 400 plus on the ground to score 47 total points in the ball game. Florida State used three different quarterbacks to combine to complete 14 of 22 passes for 232 yards. The ground game for Florida State was dominant as the Seminoles ran the ball 54 times for 406 yards and six scores. Treshaun Ward led all ballcarriers in the game with 127 yards on 14 carries to score two times as well.

The LSU Tigers open the 2022 regular season looking to redeem themselves after finishing 2021 one game under .500 after a 22 point blowout loss in the TaxAct Bowl to Kansas State. The LSU defense was toasted by Kansas State as the Wildcats gained over 440 yards to score 42 points in the game including 21 in both halves.

Offensively LSU played well chewing up 308 yards to score 20 points in the game but turned the ball over twice leading to the loss. Quarterback Jontre Kirklin struggled immensely for LSU completing only seven of 11 passes for 138 yards and three scores but threw two interceptions as well. Chris Hilton Jr. and Jaray Jenkins led the way for the LSU receivers combining for 104 yards and one touchdown apiece.
