Florida at LSU 10/16/21 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The No. 20 ranked Florida Gators visit Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Saturday to play the LSU Tigers. Florida improved to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in the SEC following its 42-0 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Florida held Vanderbilt to 287 yards of total offense and forced two turnovers, while gaining 479 yards. Quarterback Emery Jones passed for 273 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

Florida quarterback Emory Jones has passed for 1,144 yards with nine touchdowns and seven interceptions. Jones is the leading rusher for Florida with 479 yards and two touchdowns. The leading receiver for Miami is Jacob Copeland with 270 yards and three touchdown receptions. On defense, linebacker Mohamoud Diabate is the leading tackler with 44, while the leader in quarterback sacks is lineman Zachary Carter with 6.5. Four players for Florida each have one interception. 

LSU dropped to 3-3 following a 42-21 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday. The Tigers have lost two straight with each loss coming to a ranked opponent. LSU gained 408 yards of total offense but allowed Kentucky 475 yards of total offense. Quarterback Max Johnson passed for 261 yards with one touchdown, while running back Tyrion Davis-Price rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns but the Tigers defense could not hold back the Wildcats' offense.

Quarterback Max Johnson has passed for 1,730 yards with 17 touchdowns and four interceptions. The leading rusher for LSU is Tyrion Davis-Price with 435 yards and four touchdowns, while the leading receiver is Kayshon Boutte with 582 yards and nine touchdown receptions. On defense, linebacker Damone Clark is the leading tackler with 69 and defensive end BJ Ojulari is the leader in quarterback sacks with 5.5. Three different players for LSU each have one interception.

The LSU defense has struggled this season and will be up against a dual-threat quarterback in Emory Jones who has passed for 1,144 yards and rushed for 479 yards.  The Florida quarterback has accounted for 11 touchdowns and the LSU defense will not have an answer for stopping Jones or the Gators offense.
