The Florida International Golden Panthers are set to visit Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana for a Week 1 clash against the Tulane Green Wave. The Florida International Golden Panthers are looking to continue their success after going 9-4 with a victory in the Bahamas Bowl during the 2018 season. The Golden Panthers will return their starting QB in James Morgan who had an amazing season last year with 2727 passing yards, 26 TDs, and 7 interceptions. The ground attack should also be strong once again as Florida International returns RB Napolean Maxwell who contributed 684 rushing yards and 7 TDs last year.

The Florida International Golden Panthers were solid on the defensive side of the ball last season as they finished the year ranked 46th in points allowed, and they will return some key pieces this year. The Golden Panthers will receive back the services of Sage Lewis as he contributed a team-high 124 tackles last season. The secondary should once again be strong for Florida International as they return Dorian Hall and Richard Dames who combined for 6 interceptions during the 2018 campaign. The Tulane Green Wave are looking to continue their success from the 2018 season as they went 7-6 with a victory in the AutoNation Cure Bowl, but they will need to be much better on the offensive side of the ball as they finished the year ranked 82nd in points scored. The Green Wave return starting QB Justin McMillian who threw for 1304 yards, 10 TDs, and 4 interceptions last year. The ground attack should once again be strong for Tulane as Darius Bradwell is looking to repeat his 2018 campaign as he pitched in 1134 yards and 11 TDs.

The Tulane Green Wave were inconsistent on the defensive side of the ball last season as they finished the year ranked 73rd in points allowed, and they will have to replace some key starters this year. The Green Wave will be without their leading tackler from the 2018 campaign as Zachery Harris graduated after contributing 94 tackles and 12.5 TFL. The secondary also took a hit for Tulane as they will be without the services of their interception leader in Donnie Lewis as he pitched in 3 interceptions last season.

The Florida International Golden Panthers are a threat to win the Conference USA this season as they return a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, and they will kick the season off with a bang. James Morgan came over to Florida International from Bowling Green, and he lit it up last year. Morgan should have success against the Tulane defense as they finished 2018 ranked 73rd in points allowed, and they could even be worse this year as they are without some key starters. FIU has the ability to attack teams on the ground as well as through the air which makes them hard to game plan. Final Score Prediction, Florida International Golden Panthers win and cover ATS 34-24.
