The Pirates had a bye week after losing the game to Temple. Granted, the loss was not nearly as bad as what it could have been, but it was still a loss that dropped the Pirates to the five hundred mark on the year. This season in conference play the Pirates have not ended up winning a game on the year so far.
Holton Ahlers is the player who has been able to lead the Pirates at the quarterback position this year. He has managed to throw the ball for 1142 yards and 6 touchdowns on the year. Demetrius Mauney has carried the ball 57 times for only 244 yards.
UCF is heading into this game after a bye week which allowed them to have some extra time to regain their thoughts based off of what they had been doing. The Knights lost their game to Cincinnati after getting into the top 25. While the loss was disappointing for the Knights it also brought some doubt into how well the team can do against an opponent in a strong game.
Dillon Gabriel is the quarterback for the Knights on the year. He has thrown the ball for 1635 yards and has managed to get 15 touchdowns on the year. Greg McCrae ha managed to get 69 carries for 394 yards and 5 touchdowns on the year.
