Central Michigan at Bowling Green 10/19/19 - NCAAF Picks & Predictions

The Central Michigan Chippewas are set to visit Doyt Petty Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio for a MAC clash against the Bowling Green Falcons. The Central Michigan Chippewas come into this matchup with a 4-3 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the New Mexico State Aggies, 42-28. QB Quinten Dormday had an efficient game through the air as he connected on 14 of his 24 pass attempts for 134 yards and 2 TDs. The ground attack was very good for the Chippewas as Kobe Lewis ran for 161 yards and 2 TDs while Jonathan Ward contributed 131 yards and a TD.

The Central Michigan Chippewas struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the New Mexico State Aggies as they allowed them to score 28 points and rack up a total of 384 yards of offense. Senior DB Da’Quan Jamison led the way for the Central Michigan defense with 7 tackles. Sophomore LB Troy Brown had an efficient game from the secondary for the Chippewas as he contributed 6 tackles while also hauling in the lone interception of the game.

The Bowling Green Falcons come into this matchup with a 2-4 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Toledo Rockets, 20-7. QB Grant Loy struggled to find consistency through the air as he threw for 185 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception, but he had a big game on the ground as he racked up 137 yards and a TD. RB Bryson Denley was the top target for Loy and the Falcons as he hauled in 6 catches for 100 yards and a TD.

The Bowling Green Falcons were good on the defensive side of the ball as they held the Toledo Rockets to 7 points while forcing 2 turnovers. Junior LB Kholbe Coleman led the way for the Bowling Green defense with 14 tackles and half a TFL. Senior DL Nico Lautanen was able to get into the Toledo backfield a handful of times as he contributed 8 tackles, 3 TFL, and 2 sacks. Senior DB Jamari Bozeman was able to haul in the lone interception of the game for the Falcons.

Bowling Green has played Notre Dame and Kansas State which has led to some lopsided scores, but they proved their worth with a win over one of the MAC favorites in the Toledo Rockets. Central Michigan has been average this season as they are 3-3, but they are currently playing with a backup QB and Bowling Green will be playing with a sense of confidence on the defensive side of the ball after allowing only 7 points last weekend. The Falcons still gave some questions on the offensive side of the ball, but this spread is a bit too big for a road team in a conference game which is why I will side with Bowling Green. Final Score Prediction, Central Michigan Chippewas win but fail to cover ATS 27-20.
