California at Arizona State 11/14/20 - NCAA Football Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 11/13/2020 at 9:11 AM ET

In Saturday night college football action, the California Golden Bears will visit Sun Devil Stadium to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils. Justin Wilcox enters his fourth season as the California head coach and has improved his team’s record each season. In 2019, the Golden Bears won eight games and capped the season with a 35-20 victory over Illinois in the Redbox Bowl.

QB Chase Garbers returns to lead an offense that brings back all 11 starters and averaged just under 28 points over their final five games. The offensive line has a combined 110 starts and will open up lanes for Christopher Brown, who rushed for 914 yards a season ago.

The Arizona State Sun Devils were expected to compete for the Pac 12 South Division title, but stumbled during a season opening 28-27 loss at USC. The Sun Devils led by 13 points with three minutes remaining, but surrendered two late touchdown passes. Arizona State was outgained by a 556-392 margin and turned the ball over three times in defeat.

Arizona State QB Jayden Daniles threw for 134 yards and a touchdown, while adding 111 yards on the ground. Rachaad White caught three passes for 70 yards and a score in a losing effort for the Sun Devils.

These two schools have split their 34 all-time meetings and Arizona State has won the previous two contests by 17 total points. Defense of ASU should be enough to get this win. But look for both defenses to flex their muscle in a game that will stay under the total. Final Score Prediction, Arizona State Sun Devils win but our best play is on the under total 21-17.
