The 2019 College Football bowl season will kickoff on Saturday, when the Buffalo Bulls and Charlotte 49ers square off in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl. The Bulls (7-5) won five of their last six games to become bowl eligible and rank ninth in the nation in rushing offense (254.3 ypg). Last time out, Buffalo scored 21 unanswered points to start the game and cruised to a 49-7 home victory versus Bowling Green.
Sophomore RB Jaret Patterson rushed for a school record 298 yards and MAC Conference record six touchdowns. The Bulls outgained the Falcons by 399 yards on the afternoon.
The Charlotte 49ers won five straight games to close the regular season and secure their first bowl appearance in school history. The 49ers feature an explosive and balanced offense that averages 423 yards and 31.6 points on average. In their last game, Charlotte built a 17-point halftime lead and cruised to a 38-22 road victory against Old Dominion.
Charlotte RB Benny LeMay rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 18 attempts. Victor Tucker added 118 receiving yards and a touchdown for the 49ers, who forced three turnovers on the day.
