Liberty starting quarterback Kaidon Salter, who passed for 1,886 yards with 15 touchdowns and 6 interceptions has entered the transfer portal and will not play. Ryan Burger, who passed for just 48 yards, will be the starting QB. Quinton Cooley was the leading rusher with 1,254 yards and the leading receiver was Treon Sibley with 499 yards. Cooley had 13 rushing touchdowns and Sibley caught two touchdown receptions. Liberty's defense made 19 quarterback sacks and intercepted eight passes.

The Liberty Flames will have to play without their starting quarterback Kaidon Slater, who entered the transfer portal, and over the last two seasons passed for more than 4,700 yards and 47 touchdowns.
