The Bowling Green Falcons enter the 2021 season full of hope and optimism. Bowling Green finished the 2020 season 0-5 after being blown out in all 5 games. The Falcons do not have much of a passing game and it is expected to be a work in progress early on this year. Terion Stewart is a red shirt freshman at running back who will quite literally carry this team on his back.
Defensively Bowling Green will struggle early on trying to rebuild what was an atrocious defense from 2020. The Falcons run defense was the clear cut biggest liability allowing opponents to run for over 300 yards per game. Bowling Green will rely on a young core of linebackers to put life back into one of the worst defenses in the nation.
The Vols had a host of good quarterbacks in 2020 that now play for other teams. Transfer Joe Milton who spent the first 2 years of his career as a backup at Michigan is expected to be the starter in week 1. Milton has thrown for over 1100 yards and 5 score through 13 games in his career and has the size and attributes to be an instant impact in the Vols offense.
Defensively the Vols have to be better after allowing 30 points on over 400 yards per game. Tennessee has help this season defensively from the transfer portal with a few guys that will step in immediately to help a terrible defensive unit. The Tennessee defensive backs will lead the defense with Alontae Taylor being the best player on that side of the ball.
