Belk Bowl - Cincinnati vs North Carolina 12/28/13 - Free Bowl Picks, Odds, & Predictions
CFB: 3:20 PM EST December 28, 2013 TV: ESPN
The 12th Annual Belk Bowl will take place on December 28th at the Bank of American Stadium in Charlotte, NC. For 2nd straight year the Cincinnati Bearcats will be in the Belk Bowl but this year they will face North Carolina. Last year Cincinnati beat Duke in thriller 48-34.
On the lower end of the bowl games is the Belk Bowl, which will probably raise a few eyebrows upon mention with people who have never heard of the event. A regular occurrence now among the 35 bowl games for college football, the Belk Bowl this year will happen right before New Year's and adds to the list of mediocre bowl games to digest Christmas dinner over.
This year's match includes the Cincinnati Bearcats standing at a record of 9-3 and North Carolina Tar Heels, who barely squeaked into a bowl game with a 6-6 regular season performance. One would think that a game only an hour or two from home would be a big draw for North Carolina fans. However, the Tar Heels have a horrible history of losing bowl games located anywhere in their home state or nearby proximity. Last 5 years North Carolina is 1-3 in bowl games but is first bowl game under 2nd year Coach Larry Fedora.
Cincinnati, on the other hand, has a respectable short history in bowl play, having taken down the likes of Duke as a formidable team in the previous year. No surprise then, game watchers are placing their predictions on Cincinnati winning again this Christmas season, and adding another bowl title to their mantle at the expense of the Tar Heels.

Free Betting Pick: Cincinnati Bearcats -3
The Bearcats questionable schedule will be put to rest after Cincinnati hammers the ACC's North Carolina Tar Heels. Instead of questioning Bearcats we are questioning the UNC and ACC's over rated year. Cincinnati's QB Brandon Kay will be lights out as he avoids turnovers and throws for big numbers making it 2nd year in a row that he will be the MVP of the Belk Bowl. Just as good the Bearcats defense will do it's part in shutting down the Tar Heels pass happy offense. Final Score Prediction, Cincinnati Bearcats win outright as underdog 34-24.
