Last Updated: 08/21/2019 at 10:26 AM ET

On December 26, the Boston College Eagles will play the No. 25 ranked Boise State Broncos in the First Responder Bowl at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The Eagles ended the regular season 7-5 after losing three straight including the final game 42-21 to Syracuse. The Eagles at one point of the season were 7-2 and ranked No. 17 but lost the next week to Clemson and then two more in a row to end the season.

Boise State had its seven-game winning streak snapped in the Mountain West Championship game falling in overtime to Fresno State 19-16. The Broncos high-octane offense was held in check by the Bulldogs defense and snow, but it was the special teams that did in Boise State as they missed a 42-yard field goal and had an extra point blocked late in the game that would otherwise have given the Broncos the win. Boston College quarterback Anthony Brown has thrown for 2,121 yards and 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The leading rusher is AJ Dillon with 1,108 yards and 10 touchdowns. The leading receiver is Kobay White with 33 receptions for 526 yards and three touchdowns. Jeff Smith has 20 receptions for 387 yards and six touchdowns.

Brett Rypien the Boise State quarterback has thrown for 3,705 yards, 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Alexander Mattison is the leading rusher with 1,415 yards and 17 touchdowns. The top receiver is Sean Modster with 68 receptions for 978 yards and eight touchdowns.

Boise State may have lost its final game of the season, but the Broncos had won seven straight prior to that thanks to a strong rushing and passing attack. Alexander Mattison has over 1,400 yards rushing, while Brett Rypien had thrown for 30 touchdowns. Boston College limps into the bowl game off three straight losses. Final Score Prediction, Boise State Broncos win and cover ATS 34-28.
