The NC State Wolfpack come into this matchup with a 2-1 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent road game against the West Virginia Mountaineers, 44-27. QB Matthew McKay struggled to find consistency through the air for the NC State Wolfpack as he only connected on 23 of his 48 pass attempts for 207 yards and a TD. Tanner Ingle led the way for the Wolfpack defense with 7 tackles and a pass deflection from the secondary. Freshman LB Drake Thomas was able to haul in the lone interception of the game for the NC State defense.

The NC State Wolfpack are much better than what they showed last week against the West Virginia Mountaineers as their defense has potential to be one of the better ones in the ACC. Ball State struggled to stop the FAU offense last week at home, but NC State has slightly more talent than FAU which could be a problem on the road. Matthew McKay lacked to find much success against a West Virginia defense that has struggled this season, but this game should give him the confidence he needs moving into AC play. The Ball State offense is the one bright spot for this team, but the Wolfpack defense is a much better unit than what they showed and will keep the Cardinals in check. Final Score Prediction, NC State Wolfpack win and cover ATS 42-14.
