Auburn vs Georgia Picks and Prediction – 10/5/2024

In the second game of a college football tripleheader on ABC, the Auburn Tigers will visit Samford Stadium to battle the Georgia Bulldogs. On Saturday, Auburn QB Payton Thorne threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown in the final five minutes of a heartbreaking 27-21 home loss versus Oklahoma. 

Thorne threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns, but his sixth interception of the season was too much for Auburn to overcome. KeAndre Lambert Smith caught five passes for 77 yards and a score. Jarquez Hunter added a game-high 97 rushing yards for the Tigers. 

The Georgia Bulldogs did not allow a touchdown through the first three games of the season and are allowing 14.8 points per contest. Last week, Georgia surrendered touchdowns on the first four Alabama possessions during a 41-34 road loss. The fifth-ranked Bulldogs (3-1) stormed back with three unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter but were torched for a 75-yard touchdown with 2:18 remaining. 

Georgia QB Carson Beck drove the team to the Alabama 20-yard line on the final possession but was picked off in the end zone. Beck finished with 439 passing yards and three scores. WR Arian Smith hauled in six passes for 132 yards and a 12-yard touchdown.

Georgia has won seven straight meetings against Auburn, including a 27-20 road victory a season ago. The Tigers have dropped consecutive games that they easily could have won and now draw an angry Bulldogs’ squad coming off a loss. Take Georgia to win and cover in a rout.
