The week seven college football schedule will kick off with a Tuesday night matchup between the Appalachian State Mountaineers and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. The Mountaineers (4-1) suffered their only loss of the season at Miami and rank 17th nationally in total offense (481.4 ypg). Last Saturday, Appalachian State gained 502 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers during a 45-16 road triumph against Georgia State.
Appalachian State QB Chase Brice threw three touchdowns, including an 80-yard strike to Christian Wells. Nate Noel carried 12 times for 74 yards and started the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown romp.
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns have won four straight games after a season opening loss at Texas and should be a lock to appear in the Sun Belt Conference Championship. Last week, Louisiana raced out to a 14-point lead after one quarter and held on for a 20-18 road victory against South Alabama. The Ragin’ Cajuns (4-1) were outgained by a 387-283 margin and failed to score in the second half.
Louisiana QB Levi Lewis completed just 9-for-20 passes for 49 yards and scored on a 22-yard run. Emani Bailey contributed 81 yards rushing and a score for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Appalachian State won the first eight meetings in this series, but Louisaina broke through last season with a 24-20 road victory. The Ragin’ Cajuns have not played well the last few weeks, but I expect them to rise to the occasion against the Mountaineers. Take Louisiana to win at home.
