App State vs UAB 12/21/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

On Saturday December 21, the No. 20 ranked Appalachian State Mountaineers meet the UAB Blazers at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana to play in the New Orleans Bowl. Appalachian State won the Sun Belt title with a 45-38 victory over Louisiana in an exciting touchdown filled game. The Mountaineers completed the regular season 12-1. Zach Thomas threw for 149 yards and one touchdown in the 7-point win.

UAB finished the regular season 9-4 following a 49-6 loss to Florida Atlantic in the Conference-USA title game. The Blazers allowed an average of just 11.4 points during the first half of their games all season but gave up 35 points to FAU and trailed 35-6 at the break. The Blazers scored just two field goals and were shutout during the second half.

Tyler Johnston III has thrown for 1,952 yards, 15 touchdowns and 14 interceptions for UAB.
