The North Texas Mean Green lost five of their nine games and finished in the middle of the pack in the Conference USA West Division. The Mean Green rank in the top 25 in the country in rushing and passing offense, but are surrendering 41.3 ppg. In their regular season finale, North Texas forced four turnovers and gained 491 yards of total offense during a 45-43 road victory against UTEP.

Appalachian State has been one of the most successful programs in the Sun Belt Conference, but have had three head coaches in the last three seasons. North Texas has the offense to keep things interesting. Take the Mean Green to cover in the Myrtle Beach Bowl. Final Score Prediction, Appalachian State Mountaineers win but don't cover ATS 38-28.
