Akron at Liberty 9/24/22 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Liberty Flames will welcome the Akron Zips to Williams Stadium Saturday for a week 4 matchup. Akron comes into week 4 riding a two game losing streak after a 57 point blowout loss to Tennessee. Defensively Akron was obliterated as Tennessee totaled 676 yards of offense to score 63 points in the game offensively Akron moved the ball well enough totaling 276 yards but turned the ball over one time and failed to score a touchdown leading to the loss.

DJ Irons led the way for the Akron offense completing 32 of 44 passes for 241 yards. Shocky Jacques-Louis led the way for the Akron receivers with 103 yards on 9 catches and Tony Grimes Jr. added 47 yards on five catches as well.

The Liberty Flames go back home in week 4 following a one point loss to Wake Forest on Saturday. Defensively Liberty struggled against Wake Forest as the Demon Deacons totaled 346 yards to score 37 points in the game including 17 in the fourth quarter. Offensively Liberty moved the ball well accumulating 428 yards but four turnovers led to the loss.

The Flames used a 2 quarterback set combining to complete 19 of 37 passes for 256 yards and two scores. Dae Dae Hunter led the way on the ground for liberty with 89 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries and quarterback Kaidon Salter added 72 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries as well.
