Air Force at Colorado State 11/16/19 - College Football Picks & Predictions

The Air Force Falcons are set to visit Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado for a Mountain West Conference clash against the Colorado State Rams. The Air Force Falcons come into this matchup with a 7-2 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Army Black Knights, 17-13. Junior QB Donald Hammond III struggled to get much offense generated through the air for Air Force as he only connected on 1 of his 6 pass attempts for 19 yards and 1 interception. Sophomore FB Timothy Jackson had a big game on the ground for the Falcons as he ran for 155 yards and a TD on 20 carries.

The Air Force Falcons were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the Army Black Knights as they held them to 13 points and a total of 343 yards of offense. Senior LB Kyle Johnson led the way for the Air Force defense with 11 tackles. Junior DT Jordan Jackson was the lone Falcon to get into the Army backfield and record a sack as he pitched in 9 tackles and 1 sack. Senior DB Zane Lewis had a productive game from the secondary as he pitched in 8 tackles and 1 pass deflection.

The Colorado State Rams come into this matchup with a 4-5 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the UNLV Rebels, 37-17. Junior QB Patrick O’Brien had an efficient game through the air for Colorado State as he connected on 17 of his 27 pass attempts for 234 yards. Junior WR Warren Jackson was the top target for O’Brien and the Rams as he hauled in 6 catches for 133 yards.

The Colorado State Rams were solid on the defensive side of the ball against the UNLV Rebels as they held them to 17 points and a total of 387 yards of offense. Senior safety Jamal Hicks led the way for the Colorado State defense with 11 tackles and 2 pass deflections. The Rams were able to get into the UNLV backfield a handful of times as DE Damion Dickens, safety Logan Stewart, DE Jalen Bates, and DL Ellison Hubbard combined for 4.5 TFL and 4 sacks.

The Air Force Falcons have quietly put together a 7-2 record this season, and they have been stout on both sides of the ball as they rank 29th in points scored and 29th in points allowed. The Falcons run the traditional triple-option which will give the Colorado State defense problems as they allow an average of 204.7 rushing yards per game. Air Force has an abundance of backs that can break a long run, but I have been impressed with Kadin Remsberg and Timothy Jackson as they both have over 600 yards on the season. Colorado State has been good on the offensive side of the ball this season, but they are playing a backup QB and Air Force has been solid in forcing turnovers. Air Force will control the clock with their ground game, and they will capitalize on scores each drive. Final Score Prediction, Air Force Falcons win and cover ATS 31-14.
