Abilene Christian at UTEP 9/19/20 – College Football Picks & Predictions

The Wildcats play in the Southland Conference and that will definitely leave them missing out on a lot of games. Abilene Christian has only 3 non-conference games on the schedule to play on the year so far. The Wildcats, though, are definitely one team that could really pull it together and make the most out of the time that they are unable to play.

With the Wildcats they are bringing back Sema’J Davis who only threw for 388 yards and 3 touchdowns but was picked off 4 times. The Junior is replacing Luke Anthony who was able to lead the Wildcats last year in the passing game. The downside is the returning rusher is also Davis who carried the ball 102 times for 621 yards and 4 scores.

UTEP in their game this past week ended up getting completely crushed by Texas. The final score ended up being 59-3 on the day, but the Miners did not even look like their defense showed up on the field and that is definitely a problem for the Miners if they are unable to get their defense going any time soon. What else was an issue for the Miners was the lack of consistent offensive production.

Gavin Hardison was the quarterback who ended up leading the Miners. Hardison went 12-27 for 141 yards, but he was picked off once in the game. Deion Hankins ended up carrying the ball 11 times for the Miners and only ended up getting 34 yards in the game.

With the Wildcats this could be a chance for them to beat a team that is one that would be considered a step up from what they are used to. Look for the fact that the Wildcats are starting a newer quarterback in this game to allow the Miners defense to look good, but the difference is the Wildcats can stop the Miners offense in the game and bring home the win. Final Score Prediction, Abilene Christians Wildcats win in upset 24-20.
