2020 Independents Football Preview - College Football Picks, Betting Odds, & Predictions

The Independents are not as big of a fight as what they used to be. However, the Independents do have a couple of good teams that could really show up big in the college football season. Now, what is interesting is some of the independent teams are included in some conferences as well for basketball, but when it comes to playing football they are still independent, like Notre Dame.

One of the front running teams for the Independents would be Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish have been able to play great in the past and they should definitely be able to continue to play great this year and should have some improvement as well. The Irish even have a good recruit class that could help to shore up some of the losses the team had from graduation.

BYU is another team that could really help out in getting the Independent a great season. Granted, the Ccougars were not an overly impressive team last year at times, but the Cougars were fairly consistent. Look for the Cougars to play good this year and challenge quite a few of the teams like last year, but still the BYU team could fall short in some of the games.

Liberty is one team along with UMass that has not really shown up on the years past and sadly that will most likely continue. The most that these two teams have been able to do is play well enough to get some good play going, but it is mainly they are the teams that the bigger squads pay to come into their stadium in week one or two and get blown out in the games before they get into games they are able to be competitive in, but come that time these two squads are usually way out of the standings.
