2020 ACC Football Preview - College Football Picks & Predictions

The ACC will be looking to build upon some of the success from last season. However, the teams that are in the ACC will all be looking up to Clemson and hoping that they are able to reach the same level of play as Clemson. What could make this year interesting is the teams like Louisville and Notre Dame that were able to build up quite a bit on the year and would like to make it a challenge for the Tigers to repeat.

Clemson is easily the odds on favorite to repeat as the ACC champions. The Tigers have the quarterback that will be able to lead the team, but also the defense has been retooled and should play really good as well. Look for the Tigers to have some rough starts as the offense has to get in line with the newer wide outs, but also for the defense to adjust to the loss of some of the leaders.

The other team that could be favored to come into the season and potentially pull up some great wins would be Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish have ended up being one of the most consistent teams in the nation and it is also a team that has flirted with greatness in the past only to fall just short. Look for the Irish to play quite a bit better on the field this year and that will help the Irish be seen as a serious competitor on the year.

Florida State and Duke are also a couple of teams that should be able to come into the mix and provide a challenge, but the fact that these two teams have had a good run at times is nice, but at the same time it will be a problem for the teams who are not on the major upswing like the other teams in the ACC are and a lot of the recruits to the two schools will mainly come from the midlevel recruits who are coming for the name or the chance to get seen on television by scouts while playing teams like Clemson or Notre Dame.
