The Youngstown State Penguins will carry a 2-0 conference record into Rochester, MI on Saturday to take on the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Youngstown State comes into this game running hot winners of four of their last five games played including a 40 point victory over defiance last came out.

Offensively Youngstown State dominated Defiance making 60% of their shots and 43.8% from beyond the arc to score 40+ points in each half. Myles Hunter led the way for the Youngstown State starters with twelve points on 6-9 shooting in 18 minutes on the floor. Michael Akuchie added eleven points in 13 minutes, while William Dunn chipped in a team high 14 points in 20 minutes off the bench.

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies come into Saturday 8-4 overall following an 18 point win against Robert Morris that ended a two game losing streak.  Jamal Cain carried  the Oakland offense last game out posting a team high 22 points and 14 rebounds in 37 minutes on the floor.

As a team this season Oakland has averaged 71.3 points per game on 42.8% shooting as a team. Jamal Cain Is the leader of the Oakland offense with 21.2 points per game to go along with a team high 10.4 rebounds per game. Jalen Moore It is second on the team in scoring with 14.8 points to go along with a team high 7.5 assists. Trey Townsend is third on the team with 13.8 points as the only other player averaging double figures.

Oakland is the better team in this matchup but the teams are almost dead even on paper. Look for a back and forth affair as both teams average over 70 PPG as each will look to run and gun. Oakland should do enough down the stretch to get the win but the Penguins have plenty of talent and scoring and will keep it close. Final Score Prediction, Oakland wins but Youngstown State covers 74-68.
