Yale at Princeton 2/14/20 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Yale Bulldogs are on the road for a matchup with the Princeton Tigers.  The Bulldogs are (17-5), coming off a 75-57 win over Dartmouth.  The Tigers are (10-9), after getting past Columbia on the road, 81-74.

In the Bulldogs win over Dartmouth, Yale was guided throughout the game by Paul Atkinson.  Atkinson collected 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Yale converted on 50% from the floor and 42% from 3-point distance.  The Bulldogs out rebounded Dartmouth, 38 to 27.  Yale held Dartmouth to just 25% from deep.  The Bulldogs forced 15 turnovers, en route to the win.

Atkinson leads the Bulldogs in points on the season, averaging over 17 per game.  Azar Swain is contributing 16 points per contest.  Jordan Bruner is nearly averaging a double-double, totaling 11.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.

In the Tigers win over Columbia, Princeton was led on offense by Jaelin Llewellyn.  Llewellyn registered 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Princeton connected on 55% from the floor and 32% from distance.  The Tigers were able to pull away, thanks to out scoring Columbia from the charity stripe, 17 to 9.  Princeton held Columbia to just 11% from 3-point range on 9 attempts.  Each team had 11 turnovers in the game.

Llewellyn is averaging over 14 points per contest for the Tigers.  Richmond Aritiguzoh is adding 13.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.  Ryan Schwieger is also finishing with double figures, averaging 12.6 points per contest.

Yale is 6-1 on the road in their last 7 games, while Princeton is 5-0 in their last 5 home games.  Both teams have won 7 of their last 8 games overall.  Th two teams have split this series, as each team is 5-5 in the last 10 matchups, while the Tigers have a slim 1 point advantage in margin of victory, over the last 10 meetings.  The Bulldogs have a top 20 road defense, while the Tigers are 258th in offensive production.  Yale has a top 50 3-point shooting team on the road, while Princeton is 301st in 3-point defense.  Both teams have dominated conference play, but the Bulldogs performed the best in a tougher non-conference schedule.  I'll side with the Bulldogs on the road, as Yale should see some open space around the perimeter.  Final score prediction, Yale will win and cover ATS 72-66.
