The Wyoming Cowboys visit Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday to play the UNLV Rebels. Wyoming dropped to 4-10 on the season following its 69-55 loss to Boise State on Wednesday. The Cowboys were led in the game by Trace Young who scored 16 points in the loss. The Cowboys trailed 42-27 with 15 minutes to play and never cut it to single digits the remainder of the game.
UNLV improved to 7-6 on the season thanks to a second half rally to beat Colorado State 78-76 in the opening game of the Mountain West Conference for the Rebels. Cheikh Mbacke Diong made a layup with one second remaining to give the Rebels the comeback victory.
Justin James leads the Cowboys in scoring, rebounding and assists with averages of 21.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Trace Young is the second leading scorer with an average of 16.0 points per game. Wyoming is shooting 41.4% from the field and 36.2% from 3-point territory.
Kris Clyburn leads the Rebels in scoring with an average of 12.8 points per game. Noah Robotham leads the Rebels in assists with an average of 3.2 per game. Shakur Juiston is the third leading scorer and leading rebounder with averages of 10.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, but is out injured for the season. UNLV is shooting 41.6% from the field and 28.8% from 3-point territory.
