In Thursday night first round NCAA Tournament action, the Tennessee Volunteers will take on the Wright State Raiders from the American Airlines Center. The third seeded Volunteers won 25 games overall and tied with Auburn for the most victories in the Southeastern Conference. Tennessee ranked 36th nationally in defense allowing 66.1 points per game. Bruising forwards Grant Williams (15.3 ppg) and Admiral Schofield (13.6 ppg) lead the Volunteers in scoring.

Wright State went 14-4 in the Horizon League and finished a game behind regular season champion Northern Kentucky. The Raiders are solid on the defensive end of the floor, allowing just 65.7 points per contest. Wright State punched their ticket to the Big Dance with a 74-57 victory over eighth-seeded Cleveland State in Tuesday night’s conference championship game. The Raiders won the battle on the glass by a 40-30 margin and limited the Vikings to 40 percent from the field.
