Wright State at Northern Kentucky 2/28/20 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Wright State Raiders hit the road for a contest with the Northern Kentucky Norse.  The Raiders are (24-6), coming off a 81-74 OT win on the road, at Cleveland State.  The Norse are (21-8), after sneaking past Youngstown State on the road, 71-69.

In the Raiders win over Cleveland State, Wright State was guided on offense by Loudon Love.  Love collected 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots.  The Raiders shot 52% from the floor and 28% from 3-point distance.  Wright State was out rebounded, 43 to 32.  The Raiders did struggle to keep Cleveland State off the boards on offense, allowing 17 offensive rebounds.  Wright State committed 15 turnovers.

Love has paced Raiders on offense this season, averaging 16.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest.  Bill Wampler is adding 15.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.  Wright State is recording over 82 points of offense per game on the season.

In the Norse win over Youngstown State, Northern Kentucky was led offensively by Jalen Tate.  Tate recorded 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Northern Kentucky connected on 48% from the floor and 29% from 3-point range.  The Norse got out to a nice lead at the half, thanks to their defense.  Northern Kentucky led 34-20 at the half.  The Norse held Youngstown State to just 33% from the floor.

Tyler Sharpe has guided the Norse on offense thus far, registering 15.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.  Tate is recording 12.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest.  Northern Kentucky is averaging over 72 points of offense per game.

Wright State has done well on the road, having gone 8-3.  Northern Kentucky has been just as good at home, posting a 11-3 record.  Both teams have played Cleveland State and Youngstown State in their last 2 games.  Wight State struggled with both teams.  The Raiders beat Cleveland State in OT, while falling to Youngstown State by 18 points.  The Norse beat Youngstown State by 2 and Cleveland State by 14.  The Raiders do have a potent road offense, ranking 8th in the country in points per game, while the Norse are 164th in home defense.  However, Northern Kentucky does have a solid offense, which should be able take advantage of a mediocre defense in this game.  I'll side with the Norse, as I think they can do enough on offense and cover at home.  Final score prediction, Northern Kentucky will win and cover ATS, 77-72.
