The Wisconsin Badgers visit XFINITY Center in College Park, Maryland on Monday to play the Maryland Terrapins in a Big Ten tilt. The Badgers fell to 11-5 on the season following an 84-80 loss at home to Purdue Friday. The Badgers were led in the loss by Ethan Happ with 31 points and 13 boards. Wisconsin was outrebounded 39-32 and gave up 17 offensive rebounds to Purdue.
Maryland improved to 14-3 on the season following its 78-75 win over Indiana on Friday. The Terrapins were led by Bruno Fernando with 25 points and 13 boards, while Anthony Cowan Jr. added 24 points. A second-half rally by Maryland gave the Terrapins the win and a 5-1 record in the Big Ten.
Ethan Happ leads Wisconsin in scoring, rebounding and assists with averages of 20.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Two other players are averaging double figures in scoring for the Badgers. Wisconsin is shooting 49.0% from the field and 39.5% from 3-point territory.
Anthony Cowan Jr. is the leading scorer and the leader in assists for Maryland with averages of 17.6 points and 4.5 assists per game. Bruno Fernando is the second leading scorer and leader in rebounds with averages of 14.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. As a team, Maryland is shooting 48.0% from the field and 35.1% from 3-point territory.
