The Wichita State Shockers visit Yuenging Center in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday to play the South Florida Bulls. Wichita State fell to 8-9 on the season following its 66-55 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday. Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall was hit with two technical fouls late in the game and Cincinnati hit each of the four free throws to increase its last to 57-46 and the Shockers never recovered.
South Florida dropped to 12-6 on the season following its 69-60 loss to Houston. The game was sloppily played as the teams combined for 32 turnovers, 62 fouls and one team shot just 32% and the other just over 40%. In the loss, David Collins scored 23 points to lead South Florida with 21 scored in the second half. Alexis Yetna added 12 points.
Markus McDuffie leads the Shockers in scoring with an average of 19.6 points per game. Samajae Haynes-Jones is second in scoring and the leader in assists with averages of 13.0 points and 3.0 assists per game. Jaime Echenique leads the Shockers in rebounds with an average of 5.4 per game. Wichita State is shooting 41.8% from the field and 31.3% from 3-point territory.
David Collins leads the Bulls in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game. The leading rebounder is Alexis Yetna with an average of 10.2 per game, while LaQuincy Rideau is the leader in assists with an average of 5.6 per game. South Florida is shooting 43.8% from the field and 32.6% from 3-point territory.
