The Marquette Golden Eagles will meet the West Virginia Mountaineers Friday for day 2 of the Shriners Children Charleston Classic. Marquette comes into Friday following a six point upset wins against the old miss rebels on Thursday. Marquette shot the ball well against old miss on Friday eclipsing 40% from the field and from beyond the arc, while going 89.5% from the free throw line.

The West Virginia Mountaineers roll into Friday night undefeated on the year with a 3-0 following a 19 point win against Elon. West Virginia smothered the Phoenix offense holding in line to below 40% shooting from the field and from beyond the arc, while forcing 17 team turnovers.

The Mountaineers offense has played well this season averaging 73.7 points per game on 13.7 assists but it has been the defense allowing 60 points per game leading the team to a 3-0 record on the year. Taz Sherman Is the offensive leader for West Virginia posting a team high 20.7 points for game while leading the team with 3.7 assists.

Both teams come into this game undefeated but Marquette has yet to see a defensive unit like that of the Mountaineers. Look for the West Virginia Mountaineers defense to be the difference as they smother the Golden Eagles for 44 minutes Friday night leading to their fourth win of the season.
