The Washington Huskies will continue a conference road trip Thursday night as they travel to Salt Lake City,UT to take on the Utah Utes. Washington has had issues this season coming into Thursday night one game below .500 on the season with a 5-6 record overall after losing four of the last five games played including a 16 point blowout loss to Arizona last game out. Defensively Washington was no match for the number 8 ranked Wildcats as Arizona made 55% of their shots and 48% from beyond the arc to score 45+ points in each half leading to the double digit victory.

Offensively Washington played well against a top ten team making 41.3% of their shots and 76.9% from the free throw line in the loss. Terrell Brown Jr. led the way for the Washington offense with 28 points on 10 of 22 shooting in 32 minutes on the floor Emmitt Matthews Jr. added 16 points as the only other Huskies starter in double figures. PJ fuller added a team high 11 points in 23 minutes off the bench.

The Utah Utes return home Thursday riding a two game losing streak following a 13 point loss to the Oregon Ducks. Defensively Utah was no match for the size of the depth of Oregon as the ducks made 55.6% of their shots and 52.6% from beyond the arc to score 79 points including 50 in the second half to erase a six point Utah lead at halftime.

The Utah offense has carried the team this season averaging 72.7 points per game on 42.7% shooting. Branden Carlson leads the Utah offense with 13.4 points per game on 50.9% shooting. David Jenkins junior his second on the team in scoring with 11.8 points and Both Gach adds 11.5 points as the only other Utah player averaging double digits.

Both teams have been mediocre this year with Utah coming in with a slightly better record. Utah has the slightly better offense averaging 72.7 PPG but the Huskies have enough scoring and defense to keep things close. Look for Utah to do enough Thursday night to get the win but Washington will keep it in single digits. Final Score Prediction, Utah wins but Washington covers 71-64.
