Washington at Utah 12/3/20 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Washington Huskies are set to visit Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah for a Pac-12 clash against the Utah Utes. The Washington Huskies come into this matchup with a 0-2 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the UC Riverside Highlanders, 57-42. Leading the way for the Washington Huskies was senior guard Quade Green as he recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Senior forward Hameir Wright had a productive outing for the Huskies as he pitched 7 points and 6 rebounds.

The Washington Huskies struggled shooting the ball against the UC Riverside Highlanders as they connected on 16 of their 54 field goal attempts (29.6%), and they were slightly worse from behind the three-point line (15%). The Washington Huskies won the turnover battle against the UC Riverside Highlanders (16-12), but they were dominated by the Highlanders in the rebounding department (49-33).

The Utah Utes will be looking to rebound off their 2019-2020 campaign as they went 16-15 with an 8th place finish in the Pac-12. The Utes will return their leading scorer from a season ago in junior forward Timmy Allen as he is looking to have a big season after averaging 17.3 PPG and 7.3 RPG. Sophomore guard Rylan Jones was one of the top recruits in the country when he came out of high school, and he should have a big season for the Utes after averaging 9.6 PPG and 4.4 APG.

The Utah Utes were average at scoring the basketball during the 2019-2020 season as they finished 181st in the country in points scored as they averaged 70.9 PPG. The Utes were slightly worse on the defensive side of the court last season as they ranked 204th in the country as they allowed their opponents to score an average of 70.3 PPG.

The Washington Huskies have been awful to open the season as they lost by 34 to Baylor and 15 to UC Riverside, and they will have a tough out here on the road against the Utah Utes. The Utah Utes should be better in the Pac-12 this season as they return a ton of production, but they will need to improve on the defensive side of the court. The Utes will look to play through Timmy Allen as he averaged 17.3 PPG and he should have some help from Rylan Jones. The Washington Huskies don’t have much production outside of Quade Green which has been their biggest problem thus far, and the Utes will take advantage of that. Final Score Prediction, Utah Utes win and cover ATS 73-60.
