On Saturday, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons visit Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee to play the No. 3 ranked Tennessee Volunteers. The Demon Deacons defeated Davidson 67-63 on Monday to improve to 6-3 on the season. Jaylen Hoard and Brandon Childress scored 16 points apiece to lead the Demon Deacons to victory.
Tennessee continued its fine start to the season improving to 9-1 after defeating Samford 83-70. Jordan Bone established career highs in both points scored with 24 and assists with 11. The win was Tennessee’s fifth straight and first since being name No. 3 in the nation.
Brandon Childress leads the Demon Deacons in scoring and assists with averages of 16.8 points and 4.3 assists per game. Jaylen Hoard is the second leading scorer and leader in rebounds with averages of 15.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Wake Forest is shooting 44.8% from the field and 38.4% from 3-point territory.
Grant Williams leads Tennessee in scoring and rebounding with averages of 19.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Admiral Schofield is second on the Volunteers in scoring with an average of 19.0 points per game. Jordan Bone leads the team in assists with an average of 6.3 per game. Tennessee is shooting 49.7% from the field and 35.1% from 3-point territory.
