An in-state college basketball clash will take place on Thursday night, when the VMI Keydets visit Cassell Coliseum to face the Virginia Tech Hokies. On Tuesday, VMI outscored Longwood by 12 points during the second half of an 84-71 home victory. The Keydets (2-1) outrebounded the Lancers by a 46-34 margin and converted 20 of their 23 free throw attempts.

VMI Greg Parham logged 37 minutes and tallied a game-high 22 points on 8-for-15 from the field. Sean Conway added 19 points and five rebounds for the Keydets.

The Virginia Tech Hokies come into this contest ranked 16th in the country and could surprise some people in the loaded ACC Conference. Last time out, Virginia Tech followed up an upset win against #3 Villanova with a convincing 76-58 victory versus South Florida. The Hokies (3-0) assisted on 11 of their 27 made field goals and shot 54 percent overall.

Tyrece Radford led five Virginia Tech players in double figures with 21 points on 9-for-12 from the floor. Hunter Cattoor chipped in 13 points in 21 minutes off the bench for the Hokies.
