The No. 3 ranked Virginia Cavaliers visit the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina on Tuesday to play the North Carolina State Wolfpack. The Cavaliers improved to 18-1 on the season following an 82-55 win over Notre Dame. Virginia was led by De’Andre Hunter with 19 points while four other Cavaliers scored in double figures.
North Carolina State improved to 16-4 on the season with a 69-67 win over Clemson. Braxton Beverley’s 3-pointer beat the final buzzer capping the Wolfpack’s rally over the lost few seconds to shock the Tigers. NC State is 4-3 in ACC play, two games behind the leaders.
Kyle Guy is leading in scoring with an average of 15.0 points per game. Ty Jerome is the third leading scorer and leader in assists for Virginia with averages of 13.1 points and 4.9 assists per game. Braxton Key leads in rebounds with an average of 5.7 per game. Virginia is shooting 47.8% from the field and 39.4% from 3-point territory.
Torin Dorn leads the Wolfpack in scoring and rebounding with averages of 14.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Three other Wolfpack players are averaging double figures in scoring. The assists leader is Markell Johnson with an average of 4.0 per game. NC State is shooting 49.1% from the field and 38.4% from 3-point territory.
