The Villanova Wildcats are set to visit Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio for a non-conference clash against the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Villanova Wildcats come into this matchup with a 1-0 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Army Black Knights, 97-54. Leading the way for the Villanova Wildcats was freshman forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl as he contributed 24 points and 13 rebounds. Sophomore forward Saddiq Bey had a productive outing for the Wildcats as he recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds.

The Villanova Wildcats had a good shooting game against the Army Black Knights as they connected on 36 of their 69 field goal attempts (52.2%), but they were slightly worse from behind the three-point line (40%). The Villanova Wildcats were even with the Army Black Knights in the turnover battle (17-17), but they dominated the Black Knights in the rebounding department (54-26).

The Ohio State Buckeyes come into this matchup with a 2-0 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the UMass Lowell River Hawks, 76-56. Leading the way for the Ohio State Buckeyes was junior forward Kaleb Wesson as he recorded 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists. Freshman guard D.J. Carlton had a productive outing off the bench for the Buckeyes as he pitched in 13 points and 4 assists.

The Ohio State Buckeyes had a good shooting game against the UMass Lowell River Hawks as they connected on 28 of their 57 field goal attempts (49.1%), but they were slightly worse from behind the three-point line (39.1%). The Ohio State Buckeyes lost the turnover battle against the UMass Lowell River Hawks (14-12), but they edged out the River Hawks in the rebounding department (44-37).

This will be a fun early season top 25 clash, but the Villanova Wildcats are the better team as they have one of the top coaches in the game and a more talented roster. Villanova is a year older from their 6th seeded team last season, and we saw that play a role in the confidence of guys like Saddiq Bey, Cole Swider, and Collin Gillespie. Villanova is very deep in the frontcourt which will be much needed against the Ohio State center Kaleb Wesson, but if there is one downfall about the Buckeyes talented player, it is his foul tendencies. The depth of Villanova will allow their forwards to play aggressively with Wesson and force the big man into fouls early and often. Villanova put up an impressive 97 points in their season opener, and while they won’t hit that mark against a good Ohio State team, they should have success scoring the basketball. Final Score Prediction, Villanova Wildcats win and cover ATS 77-70.
