The Utah Utes visit Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Arizona on Thursday to play the Arizona State Sun Devils in a Pac-12 contest. The Utes dropped to 6-6 on the season after losing on Saturday to No. 6 ranked Nevada 86-71. In the loss, Sedrick Barefield led Utah with 33 points, while Donnie Tillman scored 13 and pulled down 10 rebounds. The loss was Utah’s first a home this season.
Arizona State fell out of the top 25 following its 67-66 stunning loss at home to Princeton. The Sun Devils entered last week ranked No. 17 in the nation after upsetting No. 1 Kansas, but fell out of the top 25 after losing to the Ivy League Tigers. Arizona had three attempts at winning the game, but missed all three shots in the final seconds of play. Romello White led the Sun Devils with 18 points.
Sedrick Barefield leads Utah in scoring and assists with averages of 15.0 points and 3.3 assists per game. Donnie Tillman is second in scoring and leads the Utes in rebounding with averages of 10.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Utah is shooting 46.1% from the field and 35.8% from 3-point territory.
Luguentz Dort leads Arizona State in scoring and is second in rebounding with averages of 18.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Zylan Cheatham leads the Sun Devils in rebounding with an average of 10.1 per game and is the leader in assists with an average of 3.8 per game. Arizona State is shooting 43.2% from the field and 32.5% from 3-point territory.
