USC vs. Oregon 3/28/21 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Oregon Ducks and the USC Trojans are set to visit Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana for a matchup in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. The 7th seeded Oregon Ducks come into matchup with a 21-6 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their 2nd round matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes, 95-80. Leading the way for the Oregon Ducks was senior guard Chris Duarte as he recorded 23 points and 7 assists. Joining Duarte in the backcourt was senior guard LJ Figueroa who had a productive outing for the Ducks with 21 points and 7 rebounds.

The Oregon Ducks had a good shooting game against the Iowa Hawkeyes as they connected on 38 of their 68 field goal attempts (55.9%), and they were good from behind the three-point line (44%). The Oregon Ducks won the turnover battle against the Iowa Hawkeyes (12-11), but they were even with the Hawkeyes in the rebounding department (34-34).

The 6th seeded USC Trojans come into this matchup with a 24-7 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their 2nd round matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks, 85-51. Leading the way for the USC Trojans was sophomore forward Isaiah Mobley as he recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Senior guard Isaiah White had a productive outing for the Trojans as he pitched in 13 points.

The USC Trojans had a good shooting game against the Kansas Jayhawks as they connected on 32 of their 56 field goal attempts (57.1%), and they were even better from behind the three-point line (61.1%). The USC Trojans lost the turnover battle against the Kansas Jayhawks (14-7), but they dominated the Jayhawks in the rebounding department (43-27).

No one saw the USC Trojans and Oregon Ducks dominating their 2nd round games the way they did, but it shows how good the Pac-12 really was this season which makes this a Pac-12 heavyweight bout. The Trojans dominated the Oregon Ducks in their February 22nd matchup due to a big outing from Tahj Eaddy, and they didn’t even play with Isaiah Mobley as he was out due to injuries. The Trojans are an elite defensive team as they are holding their opponents to an average of 64.4 PPG, but they have proven their worth scoring the basketball as they scored 85 points on a very good Kansas defense. The difference-maker in this game is the interior presence of the Mobley brothers, and I expect them to be supplemented nicely with Eaddy and Peterson draining outside shots. Final Score Prediction, USC Trojans win and cover ATS 72-66.
