The No. 13 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels visit Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida on Saturday to play the Miami Hurricanes. The Tar Heels improved to 13-4 on the season with a 75-69 win over Notre Dame on Tuesday. Nassir Little scored 11 points during the games final 11 minutes to help lead the Tar Heels to the win.
Miami improved to 9-7 with a 76-65 win over Wake Forest in ACC play. The Hurricanes were led by Chris Lykes with 25 points in the Saturday afternoon game. Lykes hit 12 free throws over the last five minutes without missing any helping the Hurricanes to hold off a surging Wake Forest squad.
Cameron Johnson leads the Tar Heels in scoring with an average of 15.5 points per game. Luke Maye is the second leading scorer and leader in rebounds with averages of 14.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. The leader in assists is Kenny Williams with an average of 3.8 per game. North Carolina is shooting 46.5% from the field and 36.0% from 3-point territory.
Chris Lykes leads the Hurricanes in scoring and assists with averages of 17.9 points and 3.6 assists per game. Ebuka Izundu leads Miami in rebounds with an average of 9.5 per game. Five players in all are scoring in double figures for the Hurricanes. Miami is shooting 45.8% from the field and 36.2% from 3-point territory.
