UMASS at Georgia 12/30/18 - College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The Massachusetts Minutemen visit Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia on Sunday to play the Georgia Bulldogs. UMass improved to 7-5 on the season with an 85-84 win over Farleigh Dickinson last Friday. The Minutemen rallied from a deficit of 14 points to win by one. Luwane Pipkins and Jonathan Laurent each scored 20 points to help lead the Minutemen to the victory.

Georgia improved to 7-4 on the season and took home state bragging rights after its 70-59 win last Saturday over in-state rival the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Nicolas Claxton led the Bulldogs with 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Teshaun Hightower chipped in with 12 points. The Bulldogs have now won two straight and four of the last five. Luwane Pipkins leads UMass in scoring, assists and is second in rebounding with averages of 19.8 points, 6.2 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game. The leading rebounder is Rashaan Holloway with an average of 6.1 per game. Four players in all are averaging double figures in scoring for the Minutemen. UMass is shooting 47.8% from the field and 37.8% from 3-point territory.

Rayshaun Hammonds leads the Bulldogs in scoring with an average of 14.7 points per game. Two other Bulldogs are scoring in double figures. Nicolas Claxton leads Georgia in rebounds with an average of 10.1 per game and is the team leader in assists with an average of 2.6 per game. Georgia is shooting 47.3% from the field and 34.1% from 3-point territory.
