The UIC Flames make their way to Dayton, OH on Friday for a game against the Wright State Raiders in a matchup of teams in the Horizon League.  In their last game the Flames defeated Wisconsin-Green Bay by the score of 71-58.  UIC was led in points by Marcus Ottey who score a total of 18 points on the night while shooting 6 of 8 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.  Michael Diggins led the Flames in rebounds in the game with 12, including 3 coming offensively.  UIC was led in assists by Tarkus Ferguson who recorded 6 in the game while playing a total of 39 minutes against Green Bay.

With the win against Green Bay, UIC improved to 12-14 on the season and 7-6 in conference play which is good enough for 4th place in the Horizon League.  The Flames most productive scorer this season is Tarkus Ferguson who has averaged a team leading 14.2 points per game so far this year.  Ferguson also leads UIC in rebounds per game with an average of 5.7.  Ferguson is also the leader in assists for the Flames with an average of 4.9 assists per game.

The Wright State Raiders welcome the UIC Flames to town on Friday after winning their last game by the score of 83-71 against Oakland.  Bill Wampler led the Raiders in points in the game with 20 while shooting 6 of 10 from the field and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.  Loudon Love was the leading rebounder for Wright State as he pulled in 11 boards in the game, including 2 coming offensively.  Cole Gentry was the leader in assists for the Raiders on the night with 6 while playing 36 minutes in the game against Oakland.

The win against Oakland improved Wright State’s record to 21-5 on the season and they are currently 11-2 in conference play which places them in 1st place in the Horizon League.  Wright State’s leading scorer on the year is Loudon Love who has averaged 15.3 points per game.  Love is also the Raiders leading rebounder as he has averaged 9.9 per game including 4 per game offensively.  Jaylon Hall is the leader in assists for Wright State has he has averaged 3.2 assists per game on the year.

The UIC Flames have averaged 67.7 points per game this season while allowing 70.6 points per game.  The Wright State Raiders have scored 82.3 points per game on the year while allowing 71.1 points per game.  In their last 5 games, the Flames are 3-2 while the Raiders are 4-1 and have won 2 games in a row.  UIC won the first meeting of the season between these two teams by the score of 76-72.  I expect this to be another close game between these two Horizon League teams.  Although they are not close in the standings, UIC has played well against Wright State in the recent meetings between these two teams.  Wright State Raiders win, but do not cover ATS 75-70.
