The UCLA Bruins visit Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon on Sunday for a Pac-12 showdown with the Oregon State Beavers. UCLA improved to 10-6 on the season following its come from behind win in overtime 87-84 over Oregon. UCLA trailed by 17 points at one point in the second half, by 12 points with just over two minutes remaining and by nine points in the final minute, but rallied to tie and send the game to overtime then won in the extra period.
Oregon State needed overtime as well to improve to 10-4 after defeating USC 79-74 on Thursday. Stephen Thompson Jr. scored 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win for the Beavers. Leading scorer Tres Tinkle did not play due to a sprained ankle, but is probable for Sunday’s game.
Kris Wilkes leads the Bruins in scoring with an average of 17.1 points per game. Freshman Moses Brown is second in scoring and is first in rebounding with averages of 12.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. The leader in assists is Jaylen Hands with an average of 6.9 per game. UCLA is shooting 46.5% from the field and 33.6% from 3-point territory.
Tres Tinkle leads the Beavers in scoring, rebounds and assists with averages of 20.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Stephen Thompson Jr. is the second leading scorer for the Beavers with an average of 15.6 points per game. Oregon State is shooting 46.8% from the field and 32.9% from 3-point territory.
