The UCF Knights visit the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon on Sunday to play against the Oregon Ducks in the second round of the NIT. UCF defeated the Florida Gators 67-49 in the opening round of the NIT on Wednesday behind 21 points from CJ Kelly. UCF bounced back well from its loss to Memphis in the American Athletic Conference tournament and has now won three of its last four.
Taylor Hendricks is leading UCF in scoring and rebounding with averages of 15.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, while CJ Kelly is the second leading scorer and the leader in assists with averages of 13.1 points and 2.8 assists per game. UCF has four players averaging double figures in scoring and as a team is scoring an average of 72.2 points per game.
Oregon looks for its second consecutive victory when hosting UCF on Sunday. The Ducks defeated the UC Irvine Anteaters 84-58 on Wednesday in the opening round of the NIT. Rivaldo Soares was the leading scorer for Oregon with 21 points. Oregon played without three of its starters including its third-leading scorer Will Richardson, who will miss the remainder of the NIT.
N’Faly Dante is leading Oregon in scoring and rebounding with averages of 13.4 points at 8.4 rebounds per game, while the leader in assists is Jermaine Couisnard with an average of 2.2 assists per game, but did not play in the win over UC Irvine yet is expected back on Sunday. Oregon has two active players averaging double figures in scoring and as a team scores an average of 70.7 points per game.
