The UC Irvine Anteaters visit Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday to play the Butler Bulldogs. The Anteaters improved to 11-2 on the season with a 52-48 victory over Eastern Michigan on Wednesday. UC Irvine was led by Collin Welp who posted a double-double, while Robert Cartwright sank a 3-pointer with just 11.3 seconds remaining to left the Anteaters to victory.
Butler improved to 8-3 on the season following its Tuesday night 76-67 win over Presbyterian. Aaron Thompson led the Bulldogs with 18 points as he hit 8 of 10 field goals and handed out seven assists. Butler bounced back from a 71-68 loss to Indiana last week.
Max Hazzard leads the Anteaters in scoring with an average of 10.7 points per game. Jonathan Galloway is the leader in rebounds with an average of 7.8 per game, while Eyassu Worku leads UC Irvine in assists with an average of 2.8 per game. UC Irvine is shooting 43.7% from the field and 36.1% from 3-point territory.
Kamar Baldwin leads Butler in scoring, rebounding and is second in assists with averages of 16.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Two other Bulldogs are scoring in double figures. Aaron Thompson leads the Bulldogs in assists with an average of 4.5 per game. Butler is shooting 47.5% from the field and 37.2% from 3-point territory.
