The UC Davis Aggies visit Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday to play the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. UC Davis moved to 5-13 on the season following its 75-63 win over Cal Poly. The win was the Aggies first in Big West Conference play after three losses. Siler Schneider led Davis with 23 points.
Hawaii fell to 11-7 on the season after falling to UC Irvine 75-74 in overtime on Wednesday. Hawaii led by 10 points with 5:35 to play, but failed to score another field goal the rest of regulation and UC Irvine rallied to tie and send it to OT. Jack Purchase led Hawaii in the loss with 18 points and seven rebounds.
TJ Shorts II is leading in scoring, rebounding and assists for UC Davis with averages of 14.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Shorts and Siler Schneider (11.4 ppg) are the only two UC Davis players averaging double figures in scoring. UC Davis as a team is shooting 43.3% from the field and 31.2% from 3-point territory
Eddie Stansberry leads Hawaii in scoring with an average of 13.0 points per game. Two other Rainbow Warriors are scoring in double figures. The leader in assists is Drew Buggs with an average of 5.3 per game. Zigmars Raimo leads the Warriors in rebounding with an average of 6.8 per game. As a team, Hawaii is shooting 44.9% from the field and 34.7% from 3-point territory.
