The Wednesday NIT college basketball schedule will tip-off with a matchup between the Towson Tigers and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Tigers (25-8) won the Colonial Athletic Association regular season title and are allowing 64 points per game. In the conference tournament semifinal, Towson shot just 31 percent from the field during a 69-56 loss against Delaware.
Jason Gibson led four Towson players in double figures with 12 points (3-11 FG) and five rebounds. Cameron Holden added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons finished fifth in the ACC Conference standings and had their bubble burst on Selection Sunday. In the tournament quarterfinal, Wake Forest was outlasted by Boston College by an 82-77 final score. The Demon Deacons (23-9) led by as many as ten points in the first half and missed 16 of their 22 three-point attempts.
Wake Forest F Jake Laravia tallied a game-high 21 points on 9-for-13 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Alondes Williams added 17 points and four assists for the Demon Deacons.
