The Texas Tech Red Raiders meet the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday in an NCAA Tournament Final Four showdown at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Texas Tech defeated Gonzaga 75-69 on Saturday to win the West Region. The Red Raiders defense clamped down on the nation’s top scoring offense and used 19 points from Jarrett Culver and two late 3-pointers by Davide Moretti to reach the Final Four.

Michigan State defeated Duke 68-67 on Sunday to win the East Region. The Spartans rallied from an early 30-21 deficit late in the first half with a 13-0 run to lead at the half 34-30. Cassius Winston was instrumental in that run and led the Spartans with 20 points and 10 assists in the big win. The win was coach Tim Izzo’s second in 13 meetings against Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. Jarrett Culver leads the Red Raiders in scoring, rebounding and assists with averages of 18.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Davide Moretti is the second leading scorer with an average of 11.6 points per game. Texas Tech is shooting 47.2% from the field and 36.8% from 3-point territory.

Cassius Winston leads the Spartans in scoring and assists with averages of 18.9 points and 7.6 assists per game. The leading rebounder is Kenny Goins with an average of 8.9 per game. Nick Ward is the second leading scorer with an average of 13.7 points per game. The Spartans are shooting 48.8% from the field and 38.3% from 3-point territory.

Texas Tech’s defense has come up big all season and was on full display by holding Gonzaga to 18 points below its season average in points per game. The Red Raiders are 13-1 SU and 12-2 ATS over their last 14 overall. The Red Raiders carry a big chip on their shoulder after not been considered as contender for the national title all season and will use that incentive and a suffocating defense to reach the national championship game.
