The Texas State Bobcats travel to Arlington, TX on Friday for a game against the UT Arlington Mavericks in a matchup of teams from the Sun Belt Conference.  In their last game, Texas State defeated Georgia State by the score of 86-76.  Eric Terry led the Bobcats in scoring on the night with 20 points, while shooting 7 of 10 from the field and 6 of 7 from the free throw line.  Nijal Pearson was the leading rebounder for Texas State as he pulled in 9 rebounds, all coming defensively.  Marlin Davis was the leader in assists in the game for the Bobcats with 5, while playing a total of 29 minutes against Georgia State.

After the win against Georgia State, Texas State improved to 19-10 on the season and 12-6 in conference play which is good enough for 2nd place in the Sun Belt Conference.  Nijal Pearson has led the Bobcats in scoring this season with an average of 19.5 points per game and is shooting 42.8% from the field and 78.8% from the free throw line.  Isiah Small leads Texas State in rebounding this season as he has averaged 6.5 rebounds per game, including an average of 2.4 coming offensively.  The Bobcats are led in assists per game by Marlin Davis who is averaging 3.7 per game.

The UT Arlington Mavericks welcome the Texas State Bobcats to town on Friday after losing their last game to Georgia Southern by the score of 81-61.  Jabari Narcis led the Mavericks in offensive production on the night as he scored 19 points while shooting 7 of 11 from the field.  Narcis also led UT Arlington in rebounds on the night with 6, including 3 coming off the offensive boards.  Brian Warren was the leader in assists in the game for the Mavericks with 4 while playing a total of 29 minutes.

With the loss to Georgia Southern, UT Arlington fell to 13-16 on the season and 9-9 in conference play, which places the Mavericks in 7th place in the Sun Belt Conference.  David Azore has been the leading scorer on the year for UT Arlington as he has averaged 14 points per game while shooting 43.4% from the field and 78.9% from the free throw line.  Azore also leads the Mavericks in assists per game this season with an average of 3.7.  UT Arlington is led in rebounding this season by Jabari Narcis who has pulled in 6.7 rebounds per game with an average of 1.9 per game coming offensively.

The Texas State Bobcats have scored an average of 72.9 points per game this season while allowing 63.7 points per game.  The UT Arlington Mavericks have scored 70.1 points per game this year while allowing 68.1 points per game.  In their last 5 games, the Bobcats are 4-1 and have won 4 games in a row while the Mavericks are 3-2.  In the first meeting of the season between these two teams, UT Arlington came away with the win on Texas State’s home court by the score of 64-62.  Texas State enters Friday’s game with revenge on their mind after the loss earlier this season and have been playing well as of late.  The Bobcats lead the Mavericks statistically in points per game, points allowed per game and field goal percentage.  I look for Texas State to win this one and get their pay back win against UT Arlington.  Final score prediction, the Texas State Bobcats win and cover ATS, 68-64.
