The Texas Longhorns are set to visit Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana for a non-conference clash against the Purdue Boilermakers. The Texas Longhorns come into this matchup with a 1-0 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Northern Colorado Bears, 69-45. Leading the way for the Texas Longhorns was their sophomore guard Andrew Jones as he recorded 20 points off the bench. Sophomore guard Courtney Ramey had a solid all-around game for the Longhorns as he pitched in 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The Texas Longhorns were solid at shooting the ball against the Northern Colorado Bears as they connected on 29 of their 64 field goal attempts (45.3%), but they struggled from behind the three-point line (25.9%). The Texas Longhorns won the turnover battle against the Northern Colorado Bears (16-15), and they edged out the Bears in the rebounding department (40-37).

The Purdue Boilermakers come into this matchup with a 1-0 record, and they will be looking to continue their success after winning their recent home game against the Green Bay Phoenix. Leading the way for the Purdue Boilermakers was their senior guard Jahaad Proctor as he recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds. Junior center Matt Haarms had a solid game in the paint for the Boilermakers as he pitched in 16 points and 7 rebounds.

The Purdue Boilermakers had a good shooting game against the Green Bay Phoenix as they connected on 31 of their 61 field goal attempts (50.8%), but they struggled from behind the three-point line (31.6%). The Purdue Boilermakers won the turnover battle against the Green Bay Phoenix (16-11), and they edged out the Phoenix in the rebounding department (38-33).

The Purdue Boilermakers have to replace two of their best players from last year's team which is always a point of concern, but they are expecting High Point transfer Jahaad Proctor to take over the role of Carsen Edwards and score at a high-volume. The Texas Longhorns aren’t going to beat any team by outscoring them, but they will play tough defense which we saw in the season opener against the Northern Colorado Bears as they held them to 45 points. The Longhorns will look to limit Proctor, and I expect the experienced backcourt of Ramey, Jones, and Coleman to be able to control the game. Purdue is a tough place to play for visiting teams, and I think that stands true in this game, but expect the Longhorns to keep this one close. Final Score Prediction, Purdue Boilermakers win but fail to cover ATS 74-69.
